Privilege of a community with children
The children of our church are a special treasure,
a "heritage of the Lord," a "reward from him"
(Ps. 127:3). It is our great delight to minister with
the parents towards the sanctification of our next
generation. What a privilege it is to pray for and
serve our children.
Responsibility of a community with children
The parents of the church are primarily
responsible under God to bring up their children
in the training and instruction of the Lord. We
attempt to do that in several different ways all of
which center around training our children to be
kingdom-infatuated and to hope in the triumph.
of God (see text for the Fathers day sermons
ministry is to support and encourage the ministry
of the parents by faithfully teaching God's Word
and modeling genuine Christianity for the
children in our care.
Our Childrens Sunday School begins at 9:15
and each class is run by more than competent
teachers who have a passion about teaching
the grade they are involved with. The classes
are currently split into the following sections:
- Preschool – 3 & 4 yr. olds
- Kindergarten (5 yr.) thru 2nd grade
Extended Session
During our corporate Worship time, we provide child-care for all children still in diapers. All other children are expected to join their parents for corporate worship. We take this time very seriously and try to make the worship time as accomodating as possible for parents to train their children in worship. The bulletins include all the songs so the child can follow along and we also supply bulletins specifically for the children with activities.
We are thrilled to have any and all children stay with us for entire worship time; they are not a bother and we are convinced they can gain much from a sermon that is "over their head." Still, when the sermon begins and a parent so desires, we invite all children under 6 years old to go to children's worship.
"What a mercy was it to us to have parents that prayed for us before they had us, as well as in our infancy when we could not pray for ourselves!"
John Flavel
"God delights to increase the faith of his children. We ought, instead of wanting no trials before victory, no exercise for patience, to be willing to take them from God's hand as a means. Trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats, are the very food of faith."
George Muller
"The greatest need children have is to know and cherish the infinite value of God."
John Piper
